How Much is Too Much? Psychedelics

💨Cannabis a flowering plant containing the psychoactive chemical THC. THC is typically inhaled or taken orally and doses ranging from 1-30 mg - although THC concentrations vary in different strains of the Cannabis plant. Positive effects: relaxation, increased creativity, increased appetite, and mild sedation. Although Cannabis cannot be lethal, high doses have adverse effects such as anxiety and memory impairment. Regular Cannabis users are 2-4x more likely to develop mental disorders or psychosis🤯❌

🐴Ketamine prescription doses range from 56-84 mg. Recreational doses typically range from 50-100 mg. Ketamine takes effect within 15-30 minutes and the dissociative hallucinogenic effects (sometimes referred to as “the K hole”) last for between 20-60 minutes. Fatal doses range between 550-850 mg🍚🌀

🌈LSD has a standard dose of 50-100 micrograms. LSD is ingested orally, takes effect in 30-60 minutes, and lasts between 8-12 hours for a standard dose. Positive effects: euphoria, increased creativity, synesthesia, and interconnectedness. Adverse effects: paranoia, frightful hallucinations, excessive sweating, and psychosis. Despite the potential for negative experiences, there has never been a case of someone dying from LSD intoxication‼️❌

🍄Psilocybin is the primary psychoactive compound found in “shrooms.” Standard doses are 1-5g of dried mushrooms/10-50g of fresh mushrooms, though the concentration of psilocybin varies - proceed with caution! A lethal dose is about 340x the recreational dose (more than 1kg). Effects of Psilocybin last about 2-6 hours. Positive effects: euphoria, visual enhancement, and altered perception of reality. Adverse effects: extreme anxiety, agitation, and confusion. Ingestion of the wrong mushrooms of the Bulbagaric group (white spores and gills) can cause stomach issues, confusion, convulsions, or paralysis⚠️☠️

🔮✨Most of these psychedelic drugs have high thresholds for lethal doses when used in isolation. This does not mean they will not contribute to a fatal overdose when used in conjunction with another drug or drugs. The vast majority of ODs occur when more than one drug is used☠️
